Kris Kringle Cookies

This is a recipe from my Grandma Guion and we have been making them in my family as long as I can remember.  They are kind of like a sugar cookie, but they are soft and just have the best flavor!

Kris Kringle Cookies

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp cream of tarter
1 tsp baking soda dissolved in 1 Tbsp milk
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour

Directions
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, vanilla, and milk/soda.  Stir well.  Mix the flour, salt, and cream of tarter in a seperate bowl and then add to butter mixture.  Mix well.
You can either roll them out and cut them into shapes, drop them by spoonful, or roll them into little balls before baking them.  They are easier to cut into shapes if the dough is chilled.
Bake at 375 until lightly brown.

Frosting Ingredients
Powdered sugar
1/4 cup butter
milk
1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions
Cream butter.  Add powdered sugar slowly.  Add milk a tsp at a time until creamy and then add vanilla.

The colorful cookies are the Kris Kringles...  Yum!

Starting a new blog...

Well, I decided to start another blog just for recipes and things like that.  We enjoy cooking, baking, making sausage, etc. and I'm always telling people, "I will get you that recipe".  Usually I forget.
So, now they will have a place to look for some of my favorites.
I will try to do good keeping this fairly up to date, but I'm sure I wont do as well as I do with the other one.
Anyway, enjoy!
